Meanwhile, David, with Lysander in tow, headed back to Royal Estates.

Throughout the drive, David was visibly upset, puzzled over what was going through his boss's head. It was clear he cared deeply for Thalassa. His visit to Star Harbor Villa was specifically to see her. Yet, when Thalassa invited him to visit her aunt together, Lysander coldly declined.

David couldn't wrap his head around Lysander's decision. Stopped at a traffic light, he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Sinclair, why did you turn down Ms. Everhart's invitation? Is there something you're worried about?"

Glancing back at Lysander, David saw him slightly lift his gaze, giving him a fleeting look before replying with a cool tone, "The first time Dr. Funke agreed to treat me, it was because Thalassa met two of his challenging conditions. Each condition was quite demanding."

Suddenly, it all made sense to David. Lysander's refusal to accompany Thalassa was out of concern that Dr. Funke might make things difficult for her again. He was considering Thalassa's feelings.

Understanding Lysander's concerns, David felt a sense of clarity. He had initially thought the conversation between Thalassa and Lysander might have led to some discord. It was rare for Lysander to make a move and seek out Thalassa, and a misunderstanding should not lead to their separation.

Thalassa quickly arrived at Dr. Funke's clinic. At the clinic's entrance stood a tall, slender woman in a white coat, with short hair, an androgynous face, and a posture as straight as a soldier's.

This was Lydia, Thalassa's childhood friend who had served in the military for several years. She was waiting for Thalassa.

After nearly half an hour of waiting, the door finally opened. Thalassa and Lydia quickly turned around to see Dr. Funke stepping out, looking somewhat exhausted.

Thalassa immediately asked, "Dr. Funke, how's my aunt doing?"

Dr. Funke's gaze was stern as he looked at Thalassa, "She only has you for family. How have you been taking care of her? She's severely deficient in energy, has poor circulation, and is suffering from arthritis. Simply sitting in an air-conditioned movie theater for over an hour was enough to make her faint. That wouldn't happen to just anyone. It's obvious her health is in poor condition!"

Thalassa felt deeply ashamed by Dr. Funke's words. "You're right, Dr. Funke. I've been neglecting her care."
