Someone, must be talking about Alaric!

Hertha had finally made up her mind to stop caring about Alaric and didn’t want to hear anything about him anymore.

Before Richard could continue, Hertha promptly cut him off: “Stop right there! You can leave; I don’t want to hear a single word about Mr. Alaric!”

Richard said, “You really got it wrong last night. Alaric went to the Sapphire Skyline just to have drinks with us…”

“Sapphire Skyline?” Upon hearing the name, Hertha let out a mocking laugh, “Ha, and let me guess, was his date named Ruby?”

“Just listen to me…”

“Was her name Ruby?” Hertha didn’t let him say anything more, her gaze firm.

Richard nodded: “Yes, but…”

“Huh…” Hertha didn’t wait for Richard to continue, laughing again, “That’s his old flame, huh? So much for his so-called loyalty, it was all about her.”

“It’s not like that. Alaric didn’t invite anyone; it was Zola who suddenly brought some girls…” Richard realized he was making things worse as he spoke and started to panic, preparing to explain everything from the beginning.

But Hertha interrupted him again: “So among the people Zola brought was Ruby. Alaric, as usual, invited her to join and ended up taking her home, and it got so intense that Ruby ended up in the hospital!”

As she spoke, Hertha grew angrier.

The mere thought of it was enough to make her seethe with rage.

Hertha clenched her fists, trying hard to contain the anger surging within her.

“Ruby approached to give Alaric a drink; why would he push her away?” Thalassa, who had been silent until then, suddenly spoke up on Hertha’s behalf.

No wonder Hertha didn’t believe him. Richard’s explanation was full of holes.

Richard blinked in frustration; he too wondered why Alaric had pushed Ruby away.

How would he know what was going through Alaric's mind?

Richard blinked cluelessly and said, “Maybe, he didn’t want to drink?”

“See, you can’t even find a good excuse for fooling someone.” Hertha laughed mockingly, telling Richard, “Go back and tell Alaric, don’t treat me like a three-year-old. Last night was our last encounter; from now on, we’re strangers!”
