Susan's life had been a series of misfortunes, and now she was resorting to such drastic measures for some cash! The more she thought about it, the more she felt a bitter resentment growing inside her.

Her chest heaving with emotion, she blurted out, "I don't care if it's you or Joshua who gives me the 200 million, I'll put the kid down right now. You can take him away! Otherwise, forget about it!"

Lysander knew Susan all too well. If she got what she wanted, she would only escalate her demands and certainly wouldn’t release her leverage so easily. Human greed knows no bounds, and Susan was a prime example of this. Hadn’t she once held a knife to Thalassa’s throat, demanding money from Callum in a similar situation?

Lysander glanced at his watch, unfazed, and said, "What do you need 200 million for? That amount would last you a lifetime for ordinary living, but if you're prone to luxury, even 200 million wouldn't suffice."

"I have my reasons for needing the 200 million, and it's none of your business. Just get the money ready. Once it's ready, I'll release the hostage," Susan said, her breaths short, eyes darting suspiciously at Lysander.

"What about next time, Susan? Don’t you realize how insatiable your appetite is?" Lysander said calmly, adjusting his cufflinks leisurely.

"I told you, there won’t be a next time. After I give you the child, what leverage would I have for another demand?" Susan said, desperate to prove her point.

As she hesitated, she noticed people below setting up an air cushion, quickly inflating it and positioning it directly beneath her. Meaning, even if she jumped with the child, the cushion would catch them, preventing any fatal injury. Her threat to Joshua instantly turned into a farce.

She realized then that all Lysander had been doing was buying time, waiting for rescue services to deploy the air cushion! Susan knew she had been outmaneuvered, but it was too late. She looked up, glaring at Lysander with fury, "Always you ruining my plans! Lysander, why didn’t you just die in that wreckage three years ago!"
