Chapter 667

Atticus and Lysander were once again at odds, and Thalassa couldn’t exactly pinpoint why.

“Mom, Atticus was playing video games with us in the playroom, and then Dad came in and took away all the tablets.” Elowen’s voice was a soft whisper of complaint.

With that one sentence, Thalassa had a pretty good idea about the root of the issue.

Atticus had been playing video games with his younger siblings, and Lysander didn’t approve. So, he confiscated all the tablets Atticus owned.

Lysander was probably worried that the kids would strain their eyes or become addicted to gaming. His intentions were good, but his method of communication was flawed.

Atticus thought his father was mad at him. He thought his father even despised him, so he felt hurt and wronged.

A lack of communication had caused the conflict.

Was this why Lysander had picked her up from work today?

After placing her hands gently on Atticus’ shoulders, Thalassa looked at him with tender eyes. “Atticus, your dad is worried about you and your siblings straining your eyes. Moreover, kids can’t be overly reliant on video games. You’re studying electronics, but your siblings aren’t. If they get too hooked on games, they might not perform well in their own fields. Your dad did this because he loves you.”

Upon hearing this, Atticus’ teary eyes softened. His feelings of hurt and resentment toward his father slowly faded away.

Not far away, Lysander, sitting on the couch, felt a subtle tremor course through his body. His eyes shone with surprise as he gazed at Thalassa.

She hadn’t used this situation to drive a wedge between him and his children, hadn’t spoken ill of him, nor had she made the kids resent him.

Instead, she had explained to them that he loved them.

Even though that was his intention, he himself wasn’t willing to explain it to the kids this way.

But Thalassa did.

Lysander’s gaze turned softer as he continued to watch Thalassa, as a gentle light replaced the usually cold glint in his eyes.

Dinner was a seafood feast, a favorite of the four kids and Thalassa.

The house staff stood by, peeling shrimp for the kids.

With Thalassa there, the dinner table was filled with laughter and joy, and the kids ate happily and contentedly.

Thalassa was quite full after dinner.

After dinner, Thalassa and the house staff helped the kids take their baths. One by one, she turned off the lights in their rooms, closed their doors, and left them to sleep. They were all old enough to sleep on their own now.

Elowen even urged Thalassa to go sleep with Lysander again.

Every time Elowen said this, Thalassa’s face would flush a bright red as embarrassment washed over her.

While Lysander was still working in his study, Thalassa took a bath and lay in bed, examining Dylan’s test paper.
