Chapter 792

Thalassa and Ethan made their way to the Sinclair Group.

In the CEO’s office, Thalassa and Ethan sat to one side, with Lysander residing on the opposite couch, David standing dutifully behind him.

Lysander’s penetrating gaze focused on Thalassa. He hadn’t said a word, but his imposing stare was enough to throw off her balance.

Thalassa felt her entire body tensing under his penetrating gaze, even her eyes seemed restless.

Ethan, too, felt the pressure. He chuckled and turned to Thalassa, saying, “Miss Everhart, I suggest you sit beside Mr. Sinclair. Your presence by my side is making me feel rather overheated.”

Ethan was a close friend of Lysander’s. He was well aware of the silent message in Lysander’s gaze.

He was displeased with Thalassa sitting next to Ethan. This was his turf, after all.

Thalassa hesitated for a moment, then realized what Ethan meant, understanding the meaning behind Lysander’s hawk-like stare.

Ethan had given her an out, and it would be foolish not to take it.

“Ah, right. Mr. Ethan isn’t fond of heat. Mr. Sinclair, would you mind if I sat next to you?” Thalassa feigned surprise, seeking Lysander’s approval.

“Okay, come here.” Lysander’s response signified his agreement.

Thalassa quickly stood up and moved to sit next to Lysander on the couch, leaving enough space between them for another person.

As she breathed a sigh of relief, she caught Lysander’s quick glance at her. He remained silent.

“David, make some coffee,” Lysander commanded.

“Of course, Mr. Sinclair.” David nodded slightly and headed towards the kitchenette.

“So David’s in charge of the coffee, Lysander? Why haven’t you hired another secretary?” Ethan tried to lighten the mood with a jest.

Hearing this, Thalassa looked curiously at Lysander, wondering why he didn’t hire another secretary. Was David responsible for all the

miscellaneous tasks?

She felt a pang of sympathy for David.

“You didn’t come here just to ask about my lack of a secretary, did you?” Lysander’s eyes bore into Ethan.

Ethan laughed off the intimidating aura, saying, “Of course not. I almost forgot the main issue. I was too concerned about your secretary situation.

About the explosion in the mall yesterday, I’m sure you’ve heard, Mr. Sinclair. There are matters to be settled, compensation for the families of the deceased workers, and a series of other issues that need resolution. According to our contract with the Sinclair Group, there’s a clause about risk responsibility. If a product causes an incident, all responsibility falls on the Sinclair Group. Mr. Sinclair, how do you perceive this matter?” Ethan was a businessman, always putting profit first. Regardless of friendships or family ties, business was business.

Ethan finished his words, and Thalassa anxiously awaited Lysander’s response. She hadn’t expected the incident to involve the Sinclair Group.

She had been the one to present the contract for Lysander’s signature.

She never imagined something like this would happen.

Before Lysander could respond, David returned with the coffee, placing a cup in front of each of them. “Please enjoy your coffee.”

“Thank you,” Thalassa nodded in response.
