Of the Little Bear stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is The CEO's Lovely Twins. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 104 Why Lying Just Now. Let's read the author's The CEO's Lovely Twins Little Bear story right here.
Hayden felt incompetent to refuse again. After giving her WeChat for verification, the boss lady then gave a big joyful smile.
How could someone think of her being the one who cheated on the Beckham family and took away the fortune?
Hayden was puzzled, but she still managed to hold off her curiosity.
“I’ll be off then.” Hayden served the noodles out of the pot, added some toppings, and nodded politely at the boss lady.
After going upstairs and just set aside the noodles, Joseph then came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a bathrobe. His hair was still dripping wet onto his neck, and the bathroom doorway was full of water stains.
Hayden slightly felt tightness in her throat. She pulled herself together after a while and gave out a dry cough, “Have some noodles. I make them myself in the kitchen.”
Joseph glanced at her and looked again at the noodles, nodding his head.
As he sat down on the sofa, Hayden felt uncomfortable and moved to the side.
Only the sound of Hayden slurping and eating the noodles could be heard inside the room. He wasn’t too noisy as outside was raining cats and dogs. She felt warm and fuzzy hearing it.
Hayden held her breath for some inexplicable reason. When she realized that Joseph wasn’t noticing her, she then lowered her head secretly and exhaled.
“You sleep on the bed tonight.” Joseph voiced.
Hayden was stunned for a moment as Joseph’s words came as a bolt from the blue, “Really?”
“Sure.” His voice was low with a sense of ridicule, and he seemed to forget about the displeasure just now.
Hayden was delighted and felt worthy for making him the noodles, as she could have a good sleep tonight. But she was overjoyed and didn’t realize that the bed was supposed hers to sleep on.
Joseph was bemused, staring at her flattering look.
Did Hayden really think of him letting her sleep on the sofa?
The surrounding had become more relaxing. Hayden was in a good mood, and she offered, “Let me help you with the sofa. I was lying on it just now. The length of the sofa is quite ideal and it is more comfortable than the bed too.”
Joseph frowned, seeing her kiss and tell, “How about you sleeping on this comfortable sofa?”
“Please don’t.” Hayden rejected abruptly, smiling, “I would just take the bed. After all, a man like you must be a gentleman, right?”
As she said, she walked toward the bed while stretching herself out.
“Aren’t you taking a shower?” Joseph questioned.
Hayden stopped in her tracks, feeling awkward. After a long while, she said stiffly, with her back facing Joseph, “Yeah. Sure do. I’m just taking my clothes.”
She wasn’t intending to take a shower in case of arising other issues. But Joseph meant it, and he would think of her being sloppy if she refused to bath.
The water splashing sound coming from the bathroom was so soothing and warm. Whereas the stormy showers outside the window were torrential and cold. And the lights in the room were seemed to be exceedingly soft under these circumstances.
Joseph finished the noodles leisurely. He lifted the quilt and lay on the sofa.
After a long time, the bathroom door was pulled open slowly. Hayden tiptoed out of the bathroom in her long sleeve tops and trousers. She was relieved when she saw Joseph sleeping soundly on the sofa.
It was better to be safe than sorry. Hayden still couldn’t figure out what was on Joseph’s mind even though she had known him for so long. And she had no idea if he would be bestial at any time.
Hayden shoved the steak into his mouth abruptly, “Tasty, right?”
Joseph chewed a few bites before swallowing it and said, “Average.”
“What do you mean by average? It’s succulent.” Hayden also tasted a piece, “This almost matches the same level of the Western chef in the ST Hotel. It must be blockbusting for them to start a Western restaurant.”
“She used to open a Western restaurant. No big deal.” Joseph said, and his face turned stiff suddenly.
Hayden looked at him and said awkwardly, “You knew who made this?”
Joseph started the car without even looking at her and said, “Never seen anyone selling fast food with an international brand lunchbox.”
Hayden then looked at the lunchbox and saw a well-known logo printed on it. She sighed silently, still thinking about his words just now.
Joseph knew who made this lunchbox, but he still ate it. This would mean that he was actually not resenting her mother after all.
“The boss lady was just being kind. And it indeed tastes delicious.” Hayden muttered in a low voice.
“If this is the reason for you to feel justified, why lying just now?”
“Wasn’t it because of you being disgusted with the dumplings she made last night. If I said that it was made by the boss lady, would you still eat it?”
Hayden pursed her lips, feeling guilty.
She was blameful for setting herself up.
