I went to Cynthia's house after work to brief her about what happened

"So you trying to tell me that Jason Stokes, the ceo of Stokes enterprise was the guy you had a one night stand with?" Cynthia asked

"Absolutely"

"I'm confused"

"Likewise I. And he pretended not to know you" she said

"Yup. That is what I don't understand. I'm sure me being hired in that company was his handiwork because I know I didn't go to that company for an interview. So why is he pretending not to know me if he like me enough to give me a position I didn't even ask for?"

"Maybe he is trying to make you feel comfortable first" Cynthia said

"So what do you think I should do?"

"Play along. If he acts as if he doesn't know you,you too act as if you don't know him and if he act otherwise, act otherwise"

"But what about Peter?" She asked worriedly

"We are no more a couple"

"What! How? When? What happened?"

"On Thursday"

"What happened?"

"I told him what I wanted but he isn't ready"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I'm sorry. I still can't accept it myself. I still love him" I said sadly

"I'm sorry" she said and shifted to me to hug me

Two weeks went by before I knew it and today was my third Monday at work.

Before going for my lunch break, I went to Jason office to drop some files, he was on the phone, so I just dropped the files and was about to leave when he signaled to me to wait. His call took longer than expected and I was already getting pissed because my lunch break was going to be affected if this was a long talk.

Finally, he was through with his call and wasted more of my time by staring at me.

"Miss Tyler, so sorry for taking your time" he said with an 'I'm not sorry' attitude

"Would you mind if I start calling you by your first name?"
