Evelyn blushed, “I… I don’t know.” 

“Have you had your period this month?” Nellie asked. 

“Not yet, it’s really late, but I’ve always been irregular.” She whispered. 

Nellie laughed, “That means you’re definitely pregnant, congratulations, you’re about to become the matriarch of the Stirling family.” 

She shifted her gaze to Aurelia, “The Stirling family is in for a double celebration this year. Once Arnold’s wedding is over, it’ll be Mr. Leopold’s turn.” 

Aurelia was stunned, as if struck by lightning. It felt like her mind was buzzing. 

Evelyn was really pregnant so soon? No wonder she was rushing to get married with Leopold! 

Leopold was fast indeed. As soon as one child was a month old, the second was on its way! 

Nellie and Evelyn started discussing pregnancy precautions. “You’re carrying the heir to the Stirling family, you need to be careful. Don’t eat anything cold.” 

“Okay, I understand. I’ll go for a check–up at the hospital tomorrow.” 

Aurélia didn’t want to stay any longer, she excused herself and left. 

Her mind was in turmoil, wave after wave of emotion, she couldn’t calm down. 

She guessed that any day now, Leopold would throw a divorce agreement at her, forcing her to sign it. Evelyn’s belly wasn’t showing yet, there was still time for them to have a grand wedding. 

She could already see Evelyn in a white wedding dress, holding his arm, walking down the aisle. 

What a painful image, it hurt her eyes and her heart. 

She picked up a glass of juice from the table and took a big gulp. 

Sour! The strong sour taste spread from her tongue to her stomach, making her shiver. 

Was this lemon juice? She hated sour food, and she wanted something sweet, the sweeter the better. 

“Aurelia! Aurelia!” 

She was so lost in her thoughts that it took her a while to respond to Jelena calling her. 

“What is it?” Aurelia asked. 

“Are you okay?” Jelena noticed her discomfort. 

She frowned, “This juice is so sour, it’s making my teeth hurt.” 

Jelena took a sip, “It’s not sour, it’s grape juice, how can it be sour?” 

Sour grapes, how could it not be sour? 

Aurelia thought, and suddenly laughed. Sour grapes, indeed.

Jelena put her arm around her, “Aurelia, do you know how many women in the social circle envy you? Arnold might not be the head of the Stirling family, but he still owns many businesses. More importantly, he genuinely loves you and wants to marry you.” 

If Aurelia really had an affair with Mr. Leopold, it’s clear that he was only interested in her beauty, and not serious about her, otherwise he wouldn’t let Evelyn get pregnant and then marry her. 

Aurelia lowered her eyes, hiding her dim pupils.
