Beverley shrugged and said, “While Ethereal Gems and Astral Enterprises might be competitors, the Stirlings and the Coopers have partnered on other investments. If the families were to join forces through marriage, it would be an added advantage. But the main issue is that Elvis Cooper doesn’t seem to hold any affinity for Melissa.” 

Aurelia was blindsided. Was she the scapegoat for Melissa just because she was from the same grassroots background? 

Truth be told, despite both being from wealthy families, Beverley was adorable, easily drawing people in. 

Melissa, on the other hand, was arrogant, giving off an air of superiority. Elvis was probably worried he couldn’t handle her. As she contemplated, Beverley’s voice echoed again, “Do you know who Elvis new girlfriend is?” 

“Who?” Aurelia incredulously asked. 

“A newcomer in the entertainment industry named Leila. Probably due to her connection with Elvis, she’s been getting quite a lot of prime opportunities. I heard she’s co–starring in a show with your brother, Avery,” Beverley informed. 

“What?” Aurelia choked out, “Doesn’t that mean their on–screen chemistry won’t work?” 

Beverley chuckled, “You’re supporting Avery’s on–screen pairings?” 

“Yeah,” Aurelia nodded, smiling, “I enjoy supporting Avery’s on–screen relationships.” 

Beverley laughed heartily, “Aurelia, tell me secretly, does Avery have a girlfriend?” 

Aurelia arched an eyebrow and asked, “You want the juicy details?” 

Beverley nodded eagerly. 

Aurelia shrugged and said, “Unfortunately, no. Our family has a rule that he can’t date until he’s thirty. It could affect his career and fan base. Relationships can dampen the fans‘ enthusiasm for on–screen relationships.” 

Beverley nearly choked and thought, “Was Aurelia planning to support his on–screen relationships?” 

Outside the cafe, Melissa was about to explode with anger. Elvis was like a thorn in her side, causing intense pain every time it was touched. 

She stormed to the bar, grabbed a bottle of whiskey, and gulped down a few swigs, quickly feeling the effects. Upon seeing Leopold descend the stairs, she couldn’t help but rant, “What is with you men? Leaving behind well–bred, distinguished ladies for these low–class gold diggers?” 

Leopold’s brow furrowed, and his expression turned icy, “Who are you talking about?” 

Sheryl quickly intervened, “Melissa is talking about Elvis.” 

Melissa huffed, “Even Leopold is blind. He’s brought back a woman who’s lived with another man for three years and even had his child. Isn’t he disgusted?” 

Those words angered Leopold, “If you’re going to get drunk and cause a scene, get out!” 

In Melissa’s view, Aurelia was just like those low–class vixens around Elvis, all scheming to marry into a wealthy family. 

“If Arnold brings that illegitimate child from his affair into the Stirling family, we’ll all be ashamed. It’s utterly disgraceful in the Stirling family, and our ancestors must be turning in their graves out of shame.” 

A chilling aura of hostility emanated from Leopold’s face. He called a servant, ordering them to remove Melissa from the Stirling 

mansion.
