After the weekly meeting, Aurelia made her way to the CEO’s office.
Leopold was lounging in his executive chair, his voice lazily drifting across the room, “Good timing. Can you make me a cup of coffee?”

“Can you be honest with me? Is Katie’s child yours?”
Leopold stared at her, his icy eyes glimmering under the light, “I’ve promised you. I never go back on my word. So, don’t ask me this again.”
Aurelia’s mind was filled with disbelief and frustration. His vague response didn’t help her assessment. Why couldn’t he be direct? He must be doing this on purpose.
“Come on. You swore that you’d only marry me, but then you left me and married someone else. I can’t trust a man’s words anymore.”
Her heart ached at the thought.
