Lysander awoke from a nightmare, staring into the dark void of the night. It took her a long time to bring her thoughts back to reality.

She grabbed her phone and checked it, but there were no missed calls, and the police still had no updates.

Only a few messages from Carol reminded her that some documents needed Josiah's personal seal's stamp.

Wiping her face, Lysander realized she was drenched in cold sweat.

She did not sleep a wink the rest of the night.

The next day, Howard and Molly visited.

Howard had been juggling managing Thorne Constructions and Energies while accompanying Molly to the hospital for her rehabilitation. He wished he could split himself in two due to his hectic schedule.

However, Josiah's accident, while hidden from the public, couldn't be kept from those close to them.

“We heard about what happened.” Howard's voice was strained, his eyes filled with concern as he looked at Lysander. “Don't worry too much, Josiah will come back.”

Lysander was playing with the still-frightened Aurora. She paused at Howard's words but quickly smiled and replied softly, “Yes, I know.”

For some reason, Lysander had a strong feeling that Josiah was still alive, just temporarily missing even though his current situation seemed more like he was neither alive nor dead.

Worried that Lysander was putting on a brave face, Molly gently asked about her plans, “Lysa, you need to rest well. We are keeping an eye on things for Josiah.”

Lysander nodded but was clearly distracted.

Feeling bad for her, Howard suggested, “Lys, why don't you keep yourself busy with something else? Do you want to go back to the hospital to work?”

“I don't plan to go back for now,” Lysander said, having thought it through carefully.

Howard asked, “You don't want to continue being a doctor?”

“I do, but Josiah went missing trying to save me. Until he comes back, I can't just leave everything behind. Due to her position, Ms. Collins can't handle everyone. Josiah's personal seal is with me. I have to step in for as long as I can.”

Hearing that Lysander planned to manage Guerra Group temporarily, Howard was relieved but also worried.

“You will be overworked. Besides, Guerra Group is much more complex than Thorne Constructions and Energies. Even with Ms. Collins' help, it might be too much. Maybe find someone who can really hold things down.”

He glanced toward the second floor, where the master bedroom was located. The layout was the same as their own home.

Susan always appeared confident in front of others, certain that Josiah would return, but privately, she would often sigh.

When Lysander quietly inquired with Eleanor, she learned that Susan had been suffering from severe insomnia and needed sleeping pills to rest. This made her even more worried.

“Leave this to us.”

Molly couldn't help but stroke Nilou's face.

The siblings, though young, were resilient and had already recovered from the kidnapping ordeal. After learning Lysander's connection to them, they politely thanked Howard and Molly.

Having settled the children's situation, Lysander saw off Howard and Molly. She soon received a call from Carol.

“Mrs. Guerra, the previous project manager has come to the office with a group of people. They are currently confronting the security, insisting someone falsely claimed to be acting on Mr. Guerra's orders and demanding to check the office.”

Josiah had been absent from the company for five days. While the arson case remained tightly sealed, executives at Guerra Group were no fools and had their sources.

“It was bound to happen.” Lysander sighed. “Don't worry, Josiah's seal and computer are with me. Unless they blatantly rob us, they won't be able to get their hands on them.”

Sounding exhausted, Carol said, “Mrs. Guerra, it was lucky you took the seal that night. Otherwise, if it fell into their hands, the company would be in chaos. But they are making a big scene today and won't stop. Should we release a statement?”

Josiah's whereabouts were the company's biggest secret. Carol couldn't decide on her own and had to consult with Lysander.

After some thought, Lysander said, “We can't make it public yet. Hold them off and don't let anyone into Josiah's office. I need to get something, so I will be there soon.”
