Samuel was very satisfied with Charles. Although their swift marriage was a bit hard for Samuel to accept, he felt Charles appeared at the right time.

Noelle's situation was quite special. Despite his protection, it was not entirely comprehensive. Samuel would be more relieved if Noelle could find a strong protector to stay by her side.

"Are you worried that I might be biased because of Xavier?" Charles smiled. "I'm sure you understand that in large families like ours, things can get complicated with so many cousins."

Samuel had nothing more to say.

"Grandpa, you don't have to worry. I said the same thing to Grandpa Jones. Since I married Nelly, I won't let her suffer any grievances." Charles' words were both a promise and a reassurance.

Samuel had not dealt with Charles before, but within their business circles, he had heard of the young man's accomplishments. Samuel had always thought Charles was remarkable, a standout among his peers. He never imagined that this young man would end up with Noelle.

"One last question, has Noelle met your family?"

Noelle nodded. "Alright then." Reluctantly, she let go of Charles' hand, glanced at both men again, and then left the room.

Samuel's eyes never left Charles and Noelle. His eyes sparkled as he watched their interaction.

When Noelle finally disappeared, Samuel turned back to Charles with a serious look. "Care to explain, Mr. Hoffman?"

Charles smiled inwardly, noting that while Samuel seemed easygoing, he was actually quite cautious. Samuel was different from Sebastian.

Sebastian had shown his displeasure openly as he knew Charles well. That old man understood Charles much better than Samuel did.
