"Are you sure you're not exaggerating?"

"I know this woman. She's from the project department. Rumor has it she's got something going on with Mr. Parker too!"

Noelle narrowed her eyes slightly and glanced back at the group of women gossiping. She pressed her lips together.

Initially, she had not planned to pay them any attention. After all, in the office, gossip and idle chatter were just a way for people to pass the time, regardless of whether they were true or not.

However, today, Noelle was in a bad mood. These women just happened to provoke her at the wrong moment. She frowned slightly, paused in her tracks, and turned around to approach the group.

She stopped right in front of them.

Today, Noelle wore a long coat that gave her an air of confidence and authority. She had on four-inch high heels, which added to her height and presence. It made her instantly more imposing than the women before her.

Narrowing her eyes, she smiled. "We're all colleagues, and it's normal to discuss things you're unclear about, so I usually wouldn't say much about it. But it's early in the morning, and you're already gossiping even before lunchtime. And to do it right in front of me? That's not very considerate, is it?"

The women had not expected Noelle to confront them so openly. They were used to gossiping behind people's backs, but it was rare for anyone to challenge them face-to-face.

After she was done, Noelle felt a wave of relief wash over her.

Suddenly, clapping came from behind. Noelle turned and was surprised to see who it was. "Mr. Parker?"

"I didn't expect to witness such a brilliant performance so early in the morning. Ms. Shaw, well said," Brian praised her with a nod. Then, he turned his gaze to the group of women, his eyes cold and piercing.

"This is work hours. The company didn't hire you to gossip. Now, get back to work!"
