That evening, when Noelle opened her inbox, she found several unread emails. As she clicked through them, her eyes lit up with excitement. "Charlie, I got accepted by Collosus Group!"

Noelle was brimming with joy like a child. She quickly set down her tablet and dashed over to Charles, throwing herself into his arms.

Fortunately, Charles had anticipated her reaction and had already set aside his work to welcome her with open arms.

Noelle buried herself in his embrace as she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. Her eyes were gleaming with happiness as she looked up at him. "When I talked to Brian that day, I thought I wouldn't get the job. I can't believe I actually got accepted!"

She beamed up at Charles. "Charlie, are you happy for me?"

"Of course, I'm happy!" Charles smiled, seeing her so overjoyed. He leaned in to plant a soft kiss on her lips. "I've always believed in your abilities."

Noelle giggled, her confidence swelling. However, she quickly paused and narrowed her eyes at Charles suspiciously.

"Wait a minute. I got hired by Brian. This wasn't your doing behind the scenes, was it?" She peered at him closely. "Hmm?"

"How could it be? I told you, my Nelly is amazing. Any company would be eager to hire you just by looking at your resume!" Charles chuckled, squeezing her hand gently and kissing her fingers.

He added, "Nelly, it's late. Don't you think we should get some rest? Besides, we have to get up early to go to work together tomorrow!"

"Hmm, you're right. We do need to get up early tomorrow… Ah, Charlie, what are you doing?!"

Noelle nodded in agreement, fully on board with his suggestion. The next second, she shrieked, swatting away the mischievous hand that had found its way under her shirt.

"Weren't you the one who said we should go to bed?" she pouted, glaring at him. "What are you doing with your hand in my shirt? You're being improper!"

"When did I say anything about just sleeping? I said it's time for us to rest," Charles corrected her with a playful grin, lifting her effortlessly into his arms.
