Of the Noveldrama stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is The Cherished Wife. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 647. Let's read the author's The Cherished Wife Noveldrama story right here.
The screech of tires against the pavement echoed loudly on the deserted road, sounding particularly jarring in the silence of the night.
Noelle slammed on the gas, speeding forward until she was sure the car behind her would not catch up. She finally pulled over, but she was still shaken. She glanced back to see that the car tailing her was now almost completely wrecked.
The car that had crashed into it seemed relatively unharmed and was positioned on top of the other vehicle.
Before long, Noelle saw someone step out of the undamaged car. The man, who was wearing a long black coat, lifted one of his long legs and kicked a man who was scrambling out of the wrecked car. It sent him sprawling onto the ground.
Noelle barely registered the man's movements as she watched two men who had tried to escape now get pinned on the road.
Her eyes widened, and she stared at Steven in stunned silence as her mind went blank.
She recalled what Sean had said—that even if Charles and Peter teamed up, they might not be a match for Steven. Hence, Charlie told her to find Steven when the situation was dangerous. Did Charlie know?
Noelle hurriedly opened her car door and ran toward Steven, panting. "Steven, I… they… Charlie, he…"
Though Noelle spoke in broken sentences, her message was clear.
Steven glanced down at the two men on the ground, both immobilized by his kicks. He nodded. "With Charlie's skills, hardly anyone can get the better of him. You don't need to worry."
He crouched down, his narrow eyes coldly fixed on the two men at his feet. "Are you going to talk, or should I make you?"
Steven stood up and noticed Noelle's pale face. His long fingers pulled a handkerchief from his coat pocket, which he used to wipe his hands.
He looked up at her, asking, "Scared?"
"Steven… they're people too. How could you just…" Noelle had to admit that, at that moment, she was genuinely frightened.
Steven merely smiled slightly. "They're not from our country. They likely crossed the border illegally. No one will care about their lives."
His voice was cold and devoid of emotion. "Besides, they wanted to kill you and Charles. I don't see why they didn't deserve to die."
