Steven's question sparked Charles' interest. It was hard for him to believe that someone as prominent as Tania could simply vanish without a trace.

Just then, the door to the room opened, and Peter stood at the entrance. His dark eyes locked onto Charles. "It really wasn't you?"

"How long have you been eavesdropping?" Charles tapped the poker cards on the table with his slender fingers. "Do you think I have a reason to do that?"

Peter's expression remained grim. "Lennon Group has been under attack recently."

"What did you say?" Charles frowned. "When did this start?"

"Before the new year," Peter replied, his tone unusually tense. He had one hand in his pocket, the other clutching a half-smoked cigarette. "He's coming back."

Hearing this, Charles grew even more worried. "You're afraid Jack will target Tania because of you?"

"I initially thought it was you behind this," Peter admitted, his voice strained. "Even though I never said it out loud, I trusted that you wouldn't hurt Tania and that as long as she was safe, it didn't matter. But if it wasn't you, then it must be him."

Peter's gaze intensified. "We need to get Tania back as soon as possible."

Charles frowned deeply, feeling the weight of the situation. "The Hoffmans are going through a turbulent time right now. Her return may not be a good thing. And even if we want to bring her back, it's not that simple."

To be honest, Charles was not keen on having Tania return at this moment. The Hoffmans were unstable, and he had not fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
