"That's none of your business!" Tania snapped, jerking her arm away from Peter. "Move!"
However, Peter's expression was stern. "Where are you headed? I'll give you a lift."
"Don’t worry about me. It's getting late. You should head home, Mr. Lennon!" Tania said, turning to head inside. Just then, Charles stepped out and caught sight of Peter still lingering. He quirked an eyebrow in surprise. "Still here?"
Peter's lips were a tight line, and his gaze towards Charles was icy.
Charles just shrugged, then tossed a set of car keys to Tania. "Good luck finding a cab around here at night. This is Noelle's ride. Take it for a spin!"
"Thanks, bro!" Tania grabbed the keys, dashed to the garage, and zoomed off in the car.
Hands casually tucked in his pockets, Charles watched Peter with a mischievous glint in his eye. 'I never thought I'd see the day you'd be this rattled!'
Peter's scowl deepened. He could not afford to clash with Charles right then. With a sly grin, Charles added, "Just a heads-up: Trevon flew back in today, and Tania went to meet him."
Without a word or a backward glance, Peter stormed off to his car and followed suit.
Noelle stepped outside just in time to see Peter's car peel away. "Aren't you worried that he'll go start a brawl with Trevon?"
Charles's smile was all confidence. "Nah, Peter's got his head on straight. He won't throw punches without sizing up the situation first. Come on, it's late. Let's head out!"
Tania was already on edge from Peter's interruption, but when she caught what he called Trevon, her irritation flipped to disbelief. She swung her gaze between Trevon and Peter, her voice tinged with shock. "What are you getting at?"
Peter's eyes narrowed, and a chilling smirk played on his lips, never quite reaching his eyes. He stared down the man in front of Tania, his hand balled into a fist in his pocket. "Trevon? Or should I call you Jack? My dear Uncle Jack!"
The man Peter had just called Uncle was none other than Jack. He narrowed his eyes and let out a soft chuckle. "It's been ages, Peter!"
Peter's eyebrows knitted together, a glint of anger in his eyes. "Uncle Jack? What's that about? You took my wife three years ago, and what are you doing now?"
"No... It can't be!" Tania's face drained of color as she stared at the two men before her. Her fingers shook slightly, and her whole body seemed to tremble uncontrollably. She turned to Peter, her lips quivering as she struggled to speak. "Peter, you're lying to me, right? He's Trevon, not your so-called Uncle Jack!"
