Xylos glanced at him. "You want to ask why I sidelined Peter, don't you?"

Peter narrowed his eyes, glancing at Lareal. "They're sidelining me?"

Lareal nodded. "This is news directly from our informants at the Lennons'. Your grandfather said so himself."

"Got it." Peter waved it off, seeming indifferent.

Her cheeks flushed slightly. For once, she did not argue. Instead, she asked with concern, "Is this because of today? Did I drag you into this?"

Had she not accompanied Peter to the Lennon residence and spoken as she did, Xylos likely would not have fainted from anger and he would not have stripped Peter of his authority. It was clear Xylos wanted to cut Peter out entirely.

"I'm sorry. It's all because of me. You didn't have to go through this. We're divorced. If you had just told your grandfather there was nothing between us anymore, he wouldn't be treating you this way now. After all, you're still a Lennon."

Peter focused only on her last words. "You're worried about me?"

Tania hesitated. "Peter, I'm being serious. There's no reason for you to stand against the Lennons because of me. This isn't good for you."

Peter only chuckled. "You truly are worried about me."

He walked over and held her hand. Tania tried to pull away, but Peter held it firmly. "Don't worry. I've anticipated all of this."
