David's face turned pale as well, his voice trembling as he spoke.

"Then the shares you gave me were fake?"

"Yes!"

I replied coldly, no longer feeling anything for him.

David slumped to the floor, staring at me with wide eyes but unable to say anything.

The shareholders who had been bribed by them were also too scared to speak. They couldn't even lift their heads, trembling uncontrollably. One of them suddenly kneeled and said, "I'm sorry, Ms. Wright!"

"It was Hannah who threatened me. If I didn't agree, she would harm us."

"We didn't want this." Seeing this, the other shareholders also knelt down, begging for mercy and trying to shift the blame onto Hannah, making themselves out to be the victims.

I coldly laughed and said nothing.

Hannah, enraged by their betrayal, rushed to the back of the group and swung her fist, hitting them.

"You old fools, it was clearly you who were blinded by money and did everything to take advantage of me, but now you're turning on me? Pfft!"

Hannah spat in their faces, cursing them.

Jack and I watched the scene like it was a play, entertained by the spectacle of these people turning on each other.

Some of the shareholders started to fight back, grabbing an ashtray and smashing it on Hannah's head. The scene turned chaotic.

Everyone surrounded Hannah, punching and kicking her, while David hid in a corner, too scared to help.

Half an hour later, Hannah was a bloody mess, her face swollen like a pig's head, her stomach aching as if she might miscarry, lying on the ground, barely alive.

She stretched out her hand, crawling slowly toward me, grabbing the hem of my pants.

"Abigail, why? Why is your luck better than mine? I won't accept this."

"You can live well, but you can't live better than me."

I felt disgusted by her twisted mindset and kicked her away.
