She clenched her fists, desperately trying to control her emotions.

"Don't bother with her. She'll naturally get punished if she's wrong. It's not worth it to shed tears for someone like her," said Lucas without even sparing Melody a glance.

'Someone like me?' Melody found the remark ironic. 'Why does he make it seem like I'm a stranger to him?'

She recalled how Lucas had hugged her and comforted her last night, telling her that he believed her and that he would fix the problem for her.
