Beatrice became lost in thought. She would have kicked Thalia out of her house a long time ago if it were not for Lucas!

"I really didn't expect Miss Thalia to resort to such despicable means. Fortunately, it's just sleeping pills. But there's a chance she'll be even more ruthless in the future since she knew she could get away with this."

Lynette also looked worried. Although they were servants, they had all watched Lucas grow up, so naturally, they cared about him.

"Don't worry. All of you, just remember that from now on, Miss Thalia cannot come close to the family's food and drink. I'll find a reason to send her away as soon as possible."

After clarifying the matter, Beatrice waved her hand to dismiss them. Cedric then sat beside her and sighed. "Oh, how did things get so complicated?"

"Huh! Maybe Claudia had planned for Lucas to owe her family all along, so she rushed in to save him. I bet she didn't expect she would die in the end, which benefited Thalia instead."

It was understandable that Beatrice would think that way, especially since she later found out that Claudia had already been diagnosed with late-stage cancer at the time. She would not have lived much longer if she did not save Lucas.

"It's fine for you to say that to me, but don't ever say this in front of Lucas. You know he values loyalty deeply. It's not worth having a falling out with him over a stranger," said Cedric.

"Lucas may be aloof, but he's not foolish. How could he possibly turn against his own grandparents because of such a calculating woman?" Beatrice sighed again after saying this. "It's just a pity that Melody has been unfairly treated in this whole situation. If it weren't for me today, who knows how long she would have kept this to herself. We wouldn't even know what happened that night."

Beatrice immediately frowned. "She had an accident? How did she manage that? She really is a troublemaker! Lucas, I have something to tell you when you're back. Miss Thalia cannot stay in our house for another day!"

Lucas' expression turned serious. "Grandma, please don't kick her out at a time like this. Thalia can't even stay conscious for more than ten minutes on the hospital bed. Can we discuss this later?"

"I don't care how ill she is. This isn't up for discussion. In fact, consider it a formal notification. I can't explain everything over the phone now. Just wait until tomorrow when you hear what I have to say; then, you'll understand why I'm so insistent on sending her away."

Lucas sighed helplessly. "Grandma, whatever it is, let's talk about it when I get home. It's late now. Please get some rest!"
