Melody's expression soured when she heard that.

Lucas was not a public figure, and Melody was always mindful to ensure he received his privacy. Even though he claimed not to mind, she tried to limit their outings to avoid the constant scrutiny from the paparazzi. She did not want Lucas to be thrust into the public eye because of her, and it scarcely crossed her mind that her own fans would cross the line.

The girl who had called out to Lucas seemed undeterred by the disapproval from others and had an eager expression on her face. "Aren't you all curious?" she asked everyone around her. "I know I am. Besides, Melody herself said it. All she needs is his green light. A lot of people are speculating that Melody is receiving his backing, and the insinuation leaves a bitter taste in all our mouths, to put it mildly. Don't you want Melody to set the record straight and put an end to these rumors once and for all?" she persisted.

While some were swayed by her words, others chastised her firmly. "You're only trying to satisfy your curiosity! Stop using all that as an excuse."

"The rumors will never end. Do you expect Melody to address each one individually? We've ignored them in the past, and you're just blowing this out of proportion. Now you're going so far as to pressure her to divulge details about their past! You seem to have already formed your own opinion of her. If you can't trust Melody, what good are you as her fan?" another supporter chimed in.

Many nodded in agreement, as they were not willing to bring any unnecessary trouble to Melody. "Exactly! If you trust her, there's no need to demand an explanation. If you don't, then no amount of explanation will ever be enough."

"Stop! Could you mute the mic for me, please?"

As Melody motioned for the director's assistance to mute the microphone, the fan continued to insist. She shouted into the silenced mic, "Why did you mute me? If the rumors are true, then what gives you the right to take our money for this meet-and-greet? You're betraying the support we've given to you!"

At that point, Lucas was almost certain the person was not a genuine fan. Her sole intent was to disrupt and sow discord.
