Rita sighed and shook her head. "No. After all, they're just working under someone else. Asking too much might not end well for them in the future. As a reporter, my primary task is to rely on my own investigation. It's pointless to extract answers forcibly."

She only needed to ensure her investigative direction was correct. As for Karen, that was their family matter. She would never let that woman off the hook. It made her sick to her stomach how her stepmother kept plotting behind her back to harm her while pretending to be pitiful in front of her father.
