"I've got nothing to say to you." Evelyn's face was like ice, her voice even colder. She pushed open the car door, ready to get out. But before she could step down, Charles, who had just slid in from the other side, grabbed her wrist. With a firm tug, he pulled her back into the car, slamming the door shut behind her.

"Charles!" Evelyn's voice was filled with anger as the lock clicked shut.

"Charles, are you deaf? I said I have nothing to say to you!" Her eyes flashed with anger as she shook off his grip.

"Unlock the door. I want out." Her tone was icy.

Charles glanced in the rearview mirror and noticed a familiar figure heading toward them—it was Brooks. His handsome features twisted in annoyance. This man seemed to pop up everywhere. As soon as Brooks' gaze met the car, Charles hit the ignition. With a swift push on the accelerator, they sped off.

Evelyn was caught off guard and lurched forward. This time, Charles' hand shielded her before she could hit anything. Still shaken, Evelyn leaned back, trying to calm her racing heart. She barely managed to spit out, "Charles, what the hell is this? Stop the car!"

"Buckle up," he replied, steering with one hand as he checked the rearview mirror. He noticed Brooks heading to his parked Maybach. Ignoring Evelyn's protests, Charles kept his foot on the gas.
