Looking back, that nanny Evelyn fired was definitely suspicious. But now wasn't the moment for pointing fingers or explaining things away. Charles grabbed Evelyn's hand with urgency. His voice was barely hiding the desperation. “Where's Charlie? Which hospital?” He needed Evelyn to take him there to see Charlie for himself. Evelyn, however, stood her ground. Charles met her eyes, noticing the coldness and the slight mockery in them. His grip on her wrist tightened, and Evelyn felt his trembling. He was trying his best to keep it together, but it was clear as day that fear was seeping out.
