"How do you think Dahlia got first place? Do you really have the cheek to gloat in front of me?" Evelyn's icy gaze swept towards Sena, retorting without any courtesy.

"Evelyn, I know you're not happy about losing to me, but that doesn't mean you can just say whatever you want." Dahlia frowned, her words carrying a sense of righteousness.

"Am I really just talking nonsense?" Evelyn sneered.

"Dahlia, don't listen to her. She's just jealous because she can't have what you have!"

Sena watched Evelyn with scorn. Her next words were even sharper. "Evelyn, just look at that ugly face of yours, twisted by jealousy. It's disgusting! You're right. My cousin helped Dahlia win first place..."

"Sena!" Dahlia sharply interrupted, her face burning with embarrassment.

Seeing Sena still smug, Dahlia felt her face go green. Sena, with her thoughtless blabbering, was so stupid.

Evelyn had no proof of the inside story behind Dahlia’s first-place win. And now, Sena had just handed Evelyn the ammunition to embarrass Dahlia her own words.

"Dahlia, you're too kind to worry about her feelings." Sena was enjoying herself. She did not to miss the opportunity to needle Evelyn. Evelyn loved her cousin so much, so knowing it was Charles who helped Dahlia must have been killing her.

The more Evelyn suffered, the happier Sena became.

"Evelyn, Charles simply adores Dahlia and even wants to marry her. What's the use of you striving for first place? With just one word from him, he could give first place to Dahlia. He loves Dahlia so much he would break his principles for her..."

"What are you talking about?" Charles' voice suddenly rang out, startling both Dahlia and Sena, turning their faces pale.

Dahlia was extremely panicked inside. Charles hated nothing more than underhanded tactics. If he found out how she really got first place...

Evelyn looked at Brooks with confusion, unsure why such an influential figure was seeking her out.

"Ms. Evelyn, I'm very interested in the jewelry you designed for this competition. Do you have time to talk?"

"Yes!" Evelyn's eyes sparkled.

As soon as she responded, the driver had already stepped out to open the car door for her. Evelyn bent down to get into the car.

A few meters away, Charles watched the scene unfold.

His handsome face darkened, and under the dim and unclear light, his eyes seemed like an unfathomable abyss, with flames leaping within them. He looked ready to burn someone to ashes.
