After just a couple of attempts, Dahlia was already bleeding from her head, dizziness blurring her vision.

Charles rushed over to her side in long strides.

As he crouched down, Dahlia let go of the wheelchair that had been keeping her steady.

Without her hands for support, her legs gave way, and she collapsed into Charles’s arms like a ragdoll.

Blood trickled down her forehead as she weakly whispered, "Charles..."

Her face was a haunting mess of blood and tears.

She feebly clutched Charles's arm. "Charles, don't get upset, I'm okay."

"For Sandy, I'd do anything. Even if it means groveling to Evelyn or trading my life, I'll do it willingly."

Her deep love for Sandy was unmistakable.

"Evelyn, can Adam save Sandy now? I've done everything you asked, knelt down, begged..."

Charles's expression changed at her words.

He looked grim, yet gently tried to lift Dahlia off the floor. She refused his help.

Staying put, she tearfully looked at Evelyn. "Isn't it enough? I'll keep bowing, as long as you save Sandy!"

As Dahlia spoke, she tried to bow again.

Charles quickly pulled her into his arms, stopping her from continuing.

"Charles, let me go. Let me bow to Evelyn. I have no choice. The doctor said the longer we wait, the riskier it gets. I can't lose Sandy..."

"Evelyn, I'm begging you, please have mercy and save Sandy..."

Dahlia struggled in Charles's embrace, crying and pleading, as if still bowing in spirit.
