Anya turned around, looking at him with confusion. “Is there something you need, Mr. Quinn?” After his long silence, she had to break the ice.

Calix released her hand, his gaze fluctuating. “Why did you ask Diana to expose Cathy? What do you want to achieve?”

So, Diana really went ahead with it? Anya wasn’t surprised that Diana would confront Cathy on her behalf, but she was surprised that Calix would come to her about it.

“All along, it was me who ignored you. I’ve said it many times before: if you have any dissatisfaction, come to me directly. Don’t involve innocent people. Why won’t you listen?” he continued, his tone tinged with anger, impatience, and annoyance towards her.

Listening to his words, Anya began to understand a lot. Even if Diana exposed Cathy’s fake eye condition, Calix still chose that woman. Was she the best choice for him, no matter what she did. even if she committed crimes?

“Mr. Quinn, how dare you think I have time to be dissatisfied with you? Even if I were dissatisfied, we are already divorced, and I wouldn’t be petty enough to care,” she replied coldly.

Her words were heavy, her eyes icy.

Calix looked at her intensely. He had heard such words from her many times after their divorce, but every time she said it, she didn’t follow through with her actions. He didn’t believe her!

Her expression was cold, and her eyes even colder.

Calix clearly saw the cold, distant look in her eyes, and his chest suddenly felt stifled.

“What grudge do you have with Cathy?” He suddenly wanted to know.

Anya smiled sadly.

“What grudge?” she repeated.

The grudge between them was indeed hateful.

Numerous scenes flashed through her mind.

With a slight smile, she didn’t want to hide anything and spoke, “She and I…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Calix’s phone rang.

He answered the call, and whatever was said on the other end made his expression tense. He said, “I’ll be right there!” in a cold voice before hanging up.

Anya looked at him.

Although she didn’t know what was said on the other end or who called, she knew that whatever it was, it was urgent enough to make Calix leave right away.

For Cathy, he had come here to confront her at midnight. And now, for her, he was rushing back again.

Linda’s face reddened, quickly apologizing, “I admit that it was my fault. I didn’t expect Anya to find out and have Diana expose you. But Cathy, isn’t this matter already settled?”

Linda didn’t know about the past between Anya and Calix, nor did she know that for all these years, Cathy had been mistaken by Calix as the “big–eyed girl” from the past, taking Anya’s place and enjoying the good days.
