There were Ryker, Chief Assistant of the Thalrex Order’s Advanced Science Department; Cyril, Special Envoy of the Thalrex Order’s War Games Division; and Professor Imogen McKenny from the International Space Research Center. 

The directors of the 20 regional foreign affairs offices qualified for the LI Mystic Realm Semifinals, along with the commanders–in–chief of the 20 competing teams, all gathered in the command center’s conference hall, ready for the briefing. 

Ryker began the presentation with a brief overview of the L1 Mystic Realm Semifinals format. 

The LI Mystic Realm was a sophisticated simulated planetary environment. 

Its domain was a cutting–edge space station located on Earth’s most remote space island. 

This Mystic Realm island had a master–a realm master–along with a team of advisors and a guard army. 

The realm master held absolute power over this L1 Mystic Realm, and their rules were the law of survival within this domain. 

Breaking the rules would lead to punishment under the realm master’s jurisdiction, which could even result in death. 

Once the teams entered the Mystic Realm, they would be subject to these survival laws, and they had no choice but to follow the realm master’s commands. 

The 20 participating teams, with Dragon Soul Special Forces‘ commander–in–chief leading the charge, would take on various tasks within the realm. 

At the end of the competition, the teams‘ final scores would be determined by their performance within the L1 Mystic Realm. 

The Mystic Realm’s evaluation system would tally the results and provide a final ranking. The team with the highest score would be crowned the champions of the war games competition. 

Though Dragon Soul Special Forces had entered the semifinals as the reigning champions of the L2 Mystic Realm competition and held command over the other 19 teams, that didn’t automatically guarantee them victory. 

The Mystic Realm’s scoring system assessed the role each team member played within the 

realm.

could be replaced, and a significant penalty could be deducted from their score.

After Ryker finished explaining the rules of the LI Mystic Realm Semifinals, Imogen took the stage to provide a brief overview of the competition’s purpose. 

The Thalrex Order’s international war games competition aimed to select the top military commanders who would go on to serve in the global space defense system. 

Earth, which had nurtured humanity’s civilization, was a shining beacon in the vast expanse of the universe. 

But from the moment Earth was born, it faced the constant threat of destruction. 

Thankfully, despite countless interstellar disasters, Earth and its nearly eight billion humans and trillions of other life forms had survived time and again. 

Though threatened with annihilation, Earth always found a way to recover, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. 

This cycle of life and death, of destruction and rebirth, had given humanity its current, vibrant civilization. 

Despite the conflicts and bloodshed between humans, between humans and other species, and among species themselves, civilization had endured. 

For millennia, Earth’s species and its civilization had persisted through the constant external threats of destruction. 

Humanity’s civilization was always in danger of disappearing due to these celestial forces, yet it always managed to survive. 

The high–ranking officials and scientists of the world had worked tirelessly to create defensive systems to protect Earth from extraterrestrial threats. 

And for this, the brightest talents from around the world were needed to contribute to this effort. 

There were no concepts of countries or individuals in this grand endeavor–only one world, one collective purpose. 

The participants were asked to do their utmost best after entering the LI Mystic Realm so as to make their most outstanding contribution to perfect the defense system. 

Imogen finished explaining the purpose of the L1 Mystic Realm War Game and the intention behind its design, and then Cyril announced the official start of the competition.

The 20 teams that had made it to the L1 Mystic Realm Semifinals, clad in the specially customized Mystic Realm battle suits provided by the event committee, lined up neatly as they entered the LI Mystic Realm’s intelligent simulation base. 

“Welcome to the LI Mystic Realm space, interstellar warriors!” 

The Mystic Realm system echoed with applause. 

“All entrants must obey the realm master’s commands. Anyone who defies the realm master will be immediately destroyed by the Mystic Realm system!” 

The 

eyes of the elite members of the 20 competing teams widened in surprise as they took in the scene before them. 

Before them stretched a vast expanse of interstellar space brimming with billions of stars. 

When they turned to look behind, the home they came from, Earth, with its countless lights, was distant and far away. 

Just as Ryker had described, this was a space island on the edge of Earth. 

What lay before them was nothing but barren land–windswept sands, barren hills, withered trees, and dried–up lakes. 

All that remained was desolation and emptiness. 

Simmond, the commander–in–chief of King Hawk Special Forces, surveyed the bleak landscape, his voice filled with shock. “Commander–in–chief Ramsey, how are we supposed to survive in this wasteland for ten days? We’ll starve to death, won’t we?” 

“Yeah,” replied Reynold, commander–in–chief of Centraline Special Forces, “Before we entered the Mystic Realm, no one from the War Games Division told us how to survive here.” 

Briar, commander–in–chief of Duneward Special Forces gave a faint smile. “If they brought us to this barren land, there must be a way to solve the survival problem.” 

Robin glanced at the time–only five minutes left before the L1 Mystic Realm Semifinals began. 

He immediately gave the command, “All teams, form up in columns according to the order!” 

The 20 teams, however, seemed deaf to Robin’s command, still discussing how to survive on this deserted island. 

“I’ll say it again–form up in columns now!”
