Robert could not believe Shania would say such things. 

Maybe this woman from the Elaria conglomerate really thought money could solve everything. 

She had no idea that the Aldridges and Robin were among the most powerful people in the world. 

They did not need written contracts–those were for ordinary people. 

If they were deceived, there were countless ways for the Nine Star Consortium to pay a heavy price or even disappear entirely. 

After a brief hesitation, Robert tried again to warn her. “Ms. Coyle, Mr. Ramsey isn’t just an ordinary person. He’s also a major figure in the dark world … ” 

Shania cut him off with a sharp tone. “Enough! Robert, who do you think you are to tell me what to do?” 

“The president is backed by the Nine Star Consortium–he wouldn’t dare interfere with anything we do! 

“And you? You’re just a junior officer, nothing compared to me! 

“Even if this Ramsey guy is as powerful as you say, what can he do? 

“I refuse to believe he would dare go up against Elaria’s entire government system. 

“I’m only letting him have his way while we’re on Qacalisle Island. 

“When Grandpa wakes up and returns home, the Nine Star Consortium will invoke the president’s privilege, and the Sellow garrison will guard us 24/7. What can he possibly do to me?” 

“Cough, cough, cough!” After a violent coughing fit, Kendrick woke up. 

Shania lit up with joy and immediately ordered the Coyle family bodyguards and the medical staff who had just arrived to carry him off the cruise ship and head straight to the private airstrip. 

Watching Shania’s group disappear into the distance, Robert stood still and shook his head. “The Nine Star Consortium is in for a tough time.” 

“The Divine Drakebane of the mercenary world is not someone they can afford to mess with.” 

Luella and Kelsey witnessed this entire scene.

“Luella, judging by Shania’s attitude, it looks like they have no intention of honoring Mr. Ramsey’s agreement,” Kelsey commented. 

Luella smiled. “No one in this world can manipulate Mr. Ramsey.” 

“If she really dares to insult him, both the Nine Star Consortium and the Coyles are done for.”

The two quickly caught up with Robin. “Mr. Ramsey, the final details for the management seminar on Qacalisle Island have been released. Please take a look.” 

“I don’t need to,” Robin replied, not even glancing at the rulebook. “The business here is finished. I’m heading back to Draconia immediately.” 

Kelsey exchanged a glance with Luella before turning back to Robin. “Mr. Ramsey, won’t you stay a few more days? Things here aren’t completely settled yet.” 

Just then, two judges from Qacalisle Island hurried over to Kelsey. 

“Ms. Luella, we have another execution order for a death row inmate that requires your signature.” 

Luella nodded, signaling that they could proceed. 

Kelsey gave Robin an apologetic look. “Excuse me Mr. Ramsey, I need to review this first.” 

However, as soon as she glanced at the case file, her hand trembled violently, the pen nearly slipping from her fingers. 

“Ms. Luella, what’s wrong?” one of the judges urged. 

“Please sign quickly, or we’ll miss the scheduled execution time.” 

Kelsey visibly shaken and struggling to catch her breath, stammered, “This case … I–I have a different opinion!” 

The judge looked increasingly impatient, insisted, “Ms. Luella, this case was decided three months ago. All the procedures have been completed. Please sign and close it immediately.” 

Kelsey furrowed her brow, deep in thought. “Let’s put this on hold for now. I’ll review the case after we finalize the island’s legal team and legal provisions.” 

“We can’t delay this any longer!” one of the judges protested, looking anxious. “If we do, the pressure on us will be overwhelming! 

“Ms. Luella, you might not know this, but because of this case, there are daily protests outside the courthouse. Islanders are blocking the entrance, and our judges can’t even use the main doors to get to work.” 

Robin and Luella exchanged glances, intrigued. 

What kind of case could cause this much public outrage? 

“What’s going on?” Luella asked, noting Kelsey’s conflicted expression. 

With an apologetic shrug, Kelsey sighed. “This case is complicated. If we uphold the verdict and carry out the execution, it would be incredibly unjust. But if we overturn it, we’d be violating Qacalisle’s laws. I honestly don’t know what to do.”

Without hesitation, she picked up the file and began summarizing the case details. 

The accused–Lirald, male, 18 years old. 

Six months ago, he was sentenced to death for the murder of Lusko, the village chief of Harpton Highlands in Qacalisle Island, along with his entire family. 

The events leading up to the crime. 

Four years ago, Lirald’s mother, Lenatha, stole 300 dollars from Lusko’s household after discovering that Lirald’s younger sister had a severe lung condition and they could not afford her medical treatment. 

Lusko found out and used the situation to his advantage–forcing himself on Lenatha under the threat of exposing her theft. 

Overcome with shame and despair, Lenatha ended her own life by jumping into the sea. 

Lirald’s sister, too, passed away at home due to a lack of medical care.
