She did not understand why Gregory would punish her for yelling at a few household staff and would take Carrie to the race instead.

Bethany met Shannon grouchily.

“What are you doing, Mom? What's that smell?"

She would never tell anyone. It would not look good on Bethany when Shannon became the laughingstock in Savrow.

Shannon dumped the dirty towel into the bin and washed her hands in the bathroom.

Despite her good scrubbing, she could not get rid of the disgusting smell.

Bethany followed her into the bathroom anxiously. “How are drugs different from substances? Simon is not helping you! Look at you! You are at the breaking point.
