Wyatt was waiting downstairs, his eyes quickly picking up on the bundle of papers James was carrying, a sure sign that Dane had once again demanded a lot from his student.

“Okay.” James agreed but couldn’t help asking before hanging up, “Are you alone?”

“No,” Mirabella glanced at the person beside her, “I’m with a senior from my department.”

A senior, huh.

James’s gaze hardened slightly as he replied, “Alright, just make sure you come back soon.”

Mirabella responded affirmatively and quickly ended the call.

James: “?”

Wyatt, driving, suddenly felt a chill in the car, especially down his spine, as if a familiar murderous aura was weaving through the air. He glanced in the rearview mirror.

To anyone else, James looked as usual, but Wyatt, who knew him well, was certain this was far from normal.
