She was afraid that speaking up might only make things worse for herself.

Not long after, Dr. Elliot returned from his meeting and invited Mirabella to his office for a chat.

"Dr... Elliot, did you need to see me for something?" Mirabella asked, her gaze fixed on Elliot. His mournful puppy eyes instantly made her switch from calling him 'Professor' to 'Teacher', noticing a swift change to a more relaxed expression on his face after the adjustment.

Mirabella was speechless.

She began to doubt whether this Dr. Elliot was the same stern and aloof person others had described to her.

Clearing his throat, Elliot got straight to the point, "I've been struggling with a variable conversion method and can't seem to get it accurate. I'm not sure where the problem lies. You're really good with mathematical calculations; could you possibly take some time to analyze it for me?"

When Mirabella saw the worry shadowing Elliot's face as he mentioned this issue, she paused for a moment before responding, "I can certainly analyze it, but I'm not sure how much help I'll be able to provide."

Elliot raised an eyebrow at her response, "Robert mentioned that you didn't find the physics problem set he gave you last year too challenging. So, this variable conversion method should ideally not be a problem for you."

Mirabella's lips twitched in a grimace.

She realized she really needed to stop boasting about her abilities.

Karma was indeed swift.

Seeing that Elliot was eager to get started, he glanced at his watch and suggested, "Why put off till tomorrow what we can do today? How about we go check it out now?"

Mirabella silently gave Dr. Elliot a look before inwardly sighing. Considering she had no classes that day, she nodded in agreement.

Soon after, Elliot led Mirabella to the science building.

On their way, they encountered other students from their department, most of whom were curious about who Mirabella was, given she was seen walking beside Dr. Elliot.
