Calvin was so ticked off, he actually chuckled, "Are you seriously trying to tell me how to do my job? Just because you've got a couple of students who aren't half-bad, you think you're all that?"

Zane pressed his lips together, "That's your take, not mine."

Calvin shot him a frosty glare, skipping any more back-and-forth. "You need to call Hank and apologize right now. And your student needs to do the same."

"That's not happening," Zane's tone turned icy. "We didn't do anything wrong. Sure, Mirabella might've been a bit direct, but you know exactly why she was, Mr. Calvin, and so does Hank!"

"So, you're okay with throwing your student's future under the bus, then?" Calvin shot back with a smirk, brushing off any other arguments.

Zane's calm exterior finally cracked, "Is bullying the only trick you've got up your sleeve?"

Calvin ignored his comment, fishing his phone out of his pocket, "Are you making the call, or should I?"

Zane's face went pale as he watched Calvin fiddling with his phone, his hand clenching at his side.

Calvin found Hank's number but paused before dialing, glancing up at Zane, "Oh, and have your student here to apologize too."

A lump formed in Zane's throat. He had just promised his student she wouldn't have to apologize. His fingers unclenched as he reluctantly admitted defeat, "I'm sorry, Mr. Calvin. I had the wrong attitude. I'll apologize to Hank, but please don't drag a student into this."

Calvin's lips twisted into a mocking grin, "Too late."

With that, he had already dialed the Dean's office, "Yes, please send a student over to Zane’s office immediately..."

Zane watched, unable to stop Calvin from making the call.
