Nick looked up in surprise as his sister brought out the gadget. He stood up and walked over. “Mirabella, what’s this?”

The device was a flat, oval-shaped metal machine with a unique design, its midsection adorned with a touch panel and devoid of any buttons. From his understanding of smart devices, it gave off an air of cutting-edge technology at first glance.

Nick had never seen anything like it. Even the precision instruments used in research projects seemed primitive compared to his sister’s high-tech gadget. No wonder Catherine had described it as bizarre; it indeed was.

“Potion brewing machine?” Nick asked, intrigued. “How’s it different from the ones we have at home?”

Mirabella thought for a moment. “It’s more convenient and efficient, I guess.”

Nick took another look at the machine. “This potion brewer isn’t available on the market, is it?”
