"Graduation gift," Grady said after the staff left, pulling a sleek black box from his pocket and placing it in front of Mirabella.

Mirabella had just picked up her fork when she noticed the box. She paused, set her fork down, and opened it. Inside was a car key with a phantom logo.

Mirabella quietly stared at the logo for a moment, then closed the box and handed it back. "Grady, I can’t accept this."

Grady, realizing he couldn’t give away the car, looked visibly disappointed. The lady didn’t like his gift. His team couldn’t even come up with something she’d appreciate.

Mirabella, unaware of his thoughts, quietly picked up her fork and started eating. She hadn’t taken many bites when her phone buzzed.

Seeing it was Nick calling, she answered, "…Hey? You’re coming over?" She looked up at Grady. "Grady, Nick says he’s coming over."

Grady, still feeling down, just hummed absently.

Mirabella spoke a few more words into the phone, then hung up and sent her location to Nick via Messenger.
