"Don't you dare!" Renee's expression darkened and she stepped forward to stand before Leon without hesitation, opening her arms to shield him.

The bodyguards were startled.

They both knew that they could not afford to offend Renee and had to give up on attacking Leon. The two instantly halted their movements and avoided harming Renee by accident.
