Liam reassured Sera that Jax couldn’t reach her. Sera lowered her gaze; she’d

said all she needed to say when she faked her death. She didn’t want to see him or

hear his explanations. Infidelity was infidelity.

They cuddled on the sofa. Liam, encouraged by alcohol, finally kissed her.

Sera, who was also drunk, didn’t resist. The rest just happened.

Sera wanted to think of it as a one–night stand, but he held her accountable

to him like a child. Looking at him, she finally nodded.

Sera didn’t walk for the next few days because Liam was always holding her.

She discovered a different Liam- attentive, caring, rubbing her belly when she

had menstrual cramps. She’d fallen asleep several times in his arms.
