Chapter 10 novel THE FORGOTTEN LUNA
KAEL.
I went to the shower, and when I came out, my clothes were already in bed, but Desiree was nowhere in sight. So I put my clothes on and went down to the main floor of the house.
It was already nine in the morning, so everyone was already up and running except me.
My stomach was already complaining, but instead of going to the kitchen, I headed toward the area where the offices were. I wanted a word with Adessa so we could discuss her setup and where she should stay.
I chuckled at my own thoughts. I didn’t want to admit it, but the truth was, the idea of seeing her was something I was looking forward to more than the discussion. However, given what happened yesterday and the rejection that came between us, I doubt she would be up for a conversation. But I had to try.
I turned to the corner and immediately halted in my spot. Desiree and Miranda were in the middle of the hallway between my and Adessa’s offices, and it looked like they were having an argument based on how crumpled their foreheads were.
“Is there anything wrong?” I asked, inserting my hands into my pockets before approaching them.
Desiree’s body jolted, startled by my voice, but Miranda didn’t show any sign that she was surprised by my presence.
“Desiree and I are just discussing things about Adessa,” Miranda said nonchalantly.
My ears perked up at the mention of her name, and I couldn’t stop furrowing my brows. “What about her?” I asked, removing my hands from my pocket and crossing my arms against my chest.
Desiree’s face paled, and Miranda let out a sigh before speaking again. “Desiree doesn’t want me to give you this letter from Adessa. She said you don’t need any problems at the moment while you’re still recovering, but I said it’s better we don’t keep secrets around here.”
“There’s really nothing important in there. She just said she was leaving.” Desiree explained as she smiled broadly at me.
My eyes shifted between them. I couldn’t even focus on the rest of their words because all I heard was that they had a letter from Adessa. “Where is she?”
“She left,” Miranda replied.
“When?”
“Yesterday. Night or afternoon.” Desiree immediately answered before Miranda could. “And I think you should be eating breakfast now. It’s late.”
I ignored her and laid my hand out. “Give me the letter.”
Miranda handed it to me, and I grabbed it harshly before leaving them without a word, walking directly into my office.

“Alpha, did you hear me?” Dexter asked, and it snapped me back to the present.
Last night, I told him I wanted him and Delta Landon in my office first thing in the morning with reports for the renovation of the central hall and updates on the territory security.
I just finished reading Adessa’s letter when they came in, and I didn’t have time to think deeply about everything she said. However, halfway through Dexter’s discussion, I spaced out, and my mind went to my ex-wife.
She left, and she wished me a good life.
She admitted things had been rocky between us before I lost my memory. She knew all about Desiree and me getting back together, and that was the main reason she agreed to the divorce right away.
