ADESSA.
“Take her.” The driver told Markus, the man beside me.
They both came out of the car, and I was pulled out. The driver lit a cigarette and rested his back against the car, which I was grateful for. I needed him outside.
Markus held my arm and led me behind the bushes. I kept brushing my arm against his body before I smiled at him when I finally faced him.
His eyes swirled with lust as he licked his lips. He was good-looking. A boy next door type that you wouldn’t even think he was a pervert.
“My hands…” I mumbled.
“I can break your neck if you try to run away.” He warned me.
I nodded. He untied me, and I rubbed my hands together, my eyes darting to his pockets. “Can you turn around?”
“Of course not. I’ll watch you…”
I playfully rolled my eyes at him, flashing a seductive smile — the one I would use if I wanted to be playful with Kael. My heart was thundering in my chest because I was playing with fire. But I had no choice. I needed to get out of here alive.
I had no idea if Markus had a gun with him, but I was sure the driver didn’t, as I didn’t see any bulges in his pockets when I came out of the car. I just needed to see his back before I tried to run away.
“Please turn around. I won't be comfortable if...” I was not done with my words when his hand encircled my nape and drew me closer to him.
The next thing I knew, his mouth crashed into mine, and despite the sickening feeling that grew in my stomach, I didn't push him away.
He groaned, and my hands moved down until they reached his ass. When I felt nothing in his pocket, I moved my hands to his front. I grabbed his waistband and pretended to unbutton his pants.
He pulled away from my mouth and threw his head back while his eyes were still closed. He continued to groan in pleasure.
I took my chance. I gathered my strength and lifted my knee. I hit his groin before pushing him away as I screamed loudly, drowning his growl.
I ran toward the car and bumped into the driver while I kept screaming. “Help me!”
The driver’s eyes dilated as curses flew into his mouth before he launched forward and lunged at Markus. He didn’t even ask, and the next thing I knew, they were rolling on the ground.
I didn’t waste time and jumped inside the car only to realize there was no key.
My body trembled in fear, knowing there was no way I could outrun them, until my eyes landed on the pistol on the dashboard. I grabbed it and got out of the car just in time for both of them to emerge from the bushes.
I think they realized I played them because both of their eyes were dilating and the driver already had his belt coiled around his hand, ready to strike me.
“Big mistake!” Markus roared as he strode toward me.
The next thing I knew, I had raised my hands and fired the gun. My body jolted, but I fired two more until he dropped lifeless onto the ground.
“Fucking bitch!” The other guy growled, and before he could say more words, I turned to him and fired all the remaining bullets at him.
He dropped dead right before my eyes. His blood pooled around him, and tears started falling. I kept firing, but there were no bullets coming out.
It took a while before it dawned on me that I had killed two people.
My knees buckled, and I slowly lowered myself. I was sitting on the cold forest ground, tears streaming down my face as I gazed at their lifeless bodies. Why did it come to this? What have I done?
The first rays of the sun touched the ground. They sparkled under the canopies of the trees as if nothing horrible had happened here.
