Frank was surprised too.

After all, he did not expect to find Rory Thames, the top singer Draconia whom he had a small quarrel with during the opening ceremony of his farm resort, here.

Frank could remember that occasion like it was just yesterday, so there was no mistaking it.

Rory clearly recognized him, too, and promptly snapped at him, "Who told you to come? Get out!"

She swung the door, ready to shut it in his face, but Frank caught it with one hand.

He was not interested in Rory, but he was not about to let an opportunity slip through his fingers either.

Smiling, he said, "Ms. Thames, I'm here to treat Mr. Pearce's illness. Don't you think it's impolite to chase me away right now?"

"Treat Mr. Pearce? Really?" Rory snorted but she gave up on shutting the door, seeing that Frank was holding firmly to it.

Taking a couple steps back, she folded her arms before her chest as she huffed, "I know that you're Grande Pharma's consultant, but someone like you, giving my darling a house call?"

"Of course I—"

Before Frank could finish, a frail voice called out from the living area. "Do you know that young man, Rory?"

"I guess," Rory pouted and snorted, clearly hostile towards Frank.

"Oh, an acquaintance. Well then, come over… young man," Gene said, coughed intermittently.

Frank could tell from his cough alone that Gene was utterly enfeebled and probably would not last more than a couple of days.

"Oh, Frank Lawrence… Wait, Frank Lawrence?!" Gene looked up at him in shock, suddenly spirited.

"What, you've heard of me, Mr. Pearce?" Frank asked.

"Certainly," Gene gulped and smiled. "I've consulted Abel Loggins of Morhen, and he mentioned you. He thinks most highly of you, and claims that you'd definitely be able to cure this oddness plaguing me."

Frank raised a brow. "Really? I didn't know."

Gene chuckled in turn. "Mr. Loggins said he troubled you plenty, and was therefore afraid to ask again. He suggested that I visit you in Riverton instead… I just didn't expect to run into you here.

Then, his tone became solemn as he continued, "Mr. Loggins told me not to underestimate you despite your youth. I thought it must be some joke, so I didn't think that you're actually this young. Oh, this must be fate!"
