Around noon, Helen finished her work and stepped out of her office at Lanecorp.

She immediately found Frank lounging around and sighed in exasperation. "I've been working overtime, but you're goofing around!"

Her accusing glare sent Frank flinching, and he promptly got to his feet, smiling apologetically. "I have no idea what your work entails, but I guess the best bees are always busy bees. That's my girl for you—she's just amazing."

"Heh. You're slick, I'll give you that."

Helen snorted but showed no inclination to blame Frank, even linking arms with him and smiling. "There's a nice restaurant nearby. Let's go."

"Really? To have the honor of Ms. Lane's interest? I really need to try the menu now." Frank smiled, and they left the office together.

Many Lanecorp employees were watching, and since Frank and Helen had started work for a while, it was clear to them that those two were in a relationship.

Still, many of the male employees were indignant—Helen was the board chairwoman and had immeasurably good looks! Why would she fall for the head of their health and security department?

If they were being mean, Frank was just a glorified security guard. Hell, even if they were being nice, all he had was a sinecure!

It was certainly a conundrum for everyone else, but Frank particularly relished in their stares of confusion—it just went to show how great his woman was.

If anything, he was a little smug about it.

"Watch your mouth, Mr. Hinds." Helen scowled right then.

Marco, however, was not stopping. Clearly having beef against Frank, he snorted and said, "You only come in every other day, and even then, you don't work at all, thanks to your backing. I honestly don't know what Ms. Lane sees in you, Frank."

"Mr. Hinds," Helen snapped sternly. "You can talk to me in private if you're unhappy with this arrangement. But publicly insulting the head of our health and security department will affect teamwork."

"Hmph!" Marco snorted again. "Did I say anything wrong, Ms. Lane? All he does is goof around and tell everyone else to do his work. Is Lanecorp really accommodating a man like him?! This is too much, even if he's your boyfriend!"

"That's enough!" Helen's expression cooled. "Mr. Hinds, if you—"
