"What are you laughing at?!"

The bodyguard up front glared at Thunder and Bolt.

Both men quickly stopped smiling and shook their heads. "Nothing."

Still, they could barely contain themselves—the four people standing in front of the haughty bodyguards were all martial artists, each more ridiculous than the other.

That was why the bodyguards' threat was hilarious, and they just could not stop themselves from laughing at the thought.

On the other hand, Frank did not argue, since he would rather not fight if he could.

All he wanted to do was buy the mansion without fuss instead of spilling blood, especially when Helen, Winter, and everyone else would be moving in tomorrow.

Waving, he led the others away from the steel gates back to the car and called Gene Pearce as the bodyguards leered at them haughty.

By the time he was done telling his story, Gene was incensed. "That brat's name is Gerry Bearson. I'm the one who cleared his gambling debts because even his father can't afford it, and he turned over the mansion to me in return.

"Don't bother holding back, Mr. Lawrence—if that brat keeps fucking around, just beat him up! I'll take responsibility even if you kill him, and I'm sending my men over to clean up the house!"

As he hung up, Frank understood—Gerry was just copping out on his debt.

Striding up and leveling an impassive look at the bodyguard in the lead, he said quietly, "Gerry Bearson incurred a gambling debt that he couldn't cover. Gene Pearce helped him and had an agreement with his father that he could take the mansion. So, last warning—don't try to stop me."

"Hah!" The bodyguard snorted and spat at Frank's face. "I don't give a shit! Who do you think you are, messing about on Bearson family turf?!"

They could not be blamed—they were hired muscle of the Bearsons, and even if it was just Troy Bearson's brother who owned the mansion, it still counted as Bearson turf.

And yet, the fact that they had turned against the Bearsons left them feeling awkward.

Even if they were compelled to do so, they really were getting a little too into it.

Frank naturally noticed their awkward reactions and snorted coolly. "Do well and behave, and you can work under me at Lanecorp after you leave the Bearsons. Money, martial arts, instructions—I will make it worth your while."

Hearing that a Transcendent rank was offering such a promise, and most importantly, martial arts and instruction, Thunder and Bolt traded gazes and dropped to their knees in front of Frank.
