The kid had really refused to listen to Frank and injected Megan with the anti-allergy serum.

It accelerated the hatching, and as there had been many eggs inside Megan, Frank counted that it would just take twelve hours for her innards to be devoured clean.

Meanwhile, Professor Roberts pleaded, "Mr. Lawrence, I'm seriously begging you here—please, save my fool of a student. He's a fool, but he does have some talent… I can't bear to see the Quills kill him off just like that."

His pleading left Frank in a dilemma, and he sighed. "Professor Roberts, you probably won't understand the details, so all you have to know is that the Quills refused to let me treat their daughter."

"What?!" Professor Roberts shrieked on top of his lungs, and Frank somehow imagined him hopping around. "Is this the unwritten rules of Draconia at work again?

"Exactly."

Frank snapped his fingers, chuckling exasperatedly. "See, the Quills have just chased me out. If I were to go back in, they'd just insult me before throwing me out again. I really won't be doing your boy any favors."

"This is ridiculous!" Professor Roberts cried, almost hysterical. "Oh, Draconia! For all her nobility… What's with all these bizarre rules?!

"If you are a doctor, they should be coming to you and begging for your help! But these people would rather watch their daughter die than ask for help… I've honestly never seen anything like this!"

Frank smiled as he listened to Professor Roberts' ravings. "It's not exclusive to Draconia. There are plenty of people across the world who have talent, but they simply do not have the chance to express it. But one can't blame them for being incompetent either, don't you think?"

Professor Roberts was left speechless, since Frank was right—buried talent was a problem here and elsewhere.
