Taken aback, he wheeled on Saul with an angry glare. "I-Isn't she your niece?"

"So what if she is?"

Saul reared his chin and laughed sinisterly. "Forget my niece—I'd kill my brother too if he gets in my way… No, I will remove every obstacle in my way right now!

"And you, brat… You just had to come back now, so I'll have to kill you along with Alba's family! Don't blame me for being determined when you're in hell!"

"Frank Lawrence!" Alba cried out even as his wife helped him to her feet, his expression clearly panicked when he saw how quick Saul's attack was.

He knew Saul's power better than anyone—barring Governor Quill himself, no one in Quill Manor could match him.

Even if he looked fiftyish, the man was an accomplished Ascendant-ranked individual and might actually reach the Transcendent rank in another decade or so.

In terms of sheer power, Saul was indeed Governor Quill's son and did not embarrass him.
