Not long after Ellie left, Meredith asked Parker to come.

About her mother's affairs, she had been discussing with Parker all along. So Meredith informed him immediately after learning that Evelyn and her mother's bone marrow were not matched.

"Parker, can you help me do the paternity test of Evelyn and my mom?"

She didn't do the paternity test of them because the bone marrow could be matched at the beginning. After all, it was almost unlikely that two strangers could match the bone marrow, so she acquiesced that Evelyn was the baby girl who was replaced.

Now it seemed that there are still variables.

This made Meredith make up her mind. Originally, if Evelyn was Amelia's biological daughter, she had to tolerate Evelyn's behaviour. After all, she didn't want to hurt Amelia's own daughter.

But if Evelyn wasn't Amelia's daughter, she would let her pay the price for drugging the two children.

"What's wrong? Have you found something?"

Parker was confused.

She nodded and told him what happened today and then handed him the medical report that Ellie had brought to her.

"I suspect that Evelyn is not the girl who was replaced..."

Parker looked at the report. For a moment, he didn't know what to say. He didn't expect that Evelyn wasn't the girl they wanted to find.

In other words, Meredith could completely disregard the original agreement with Evelyn and didn't have to leave Derek.

At the thought of this, he couldn't help but clench the medical report in his hand.

He almost wined her back! Almost! This thing would ruin his plan.

"Parker, what's wrong with you?"

Meredith asked with concern when she saw the anger on his face.

.

"It's nothing. I'll get someone to look into it right away."

He saw the concern in her eyes and couldn't help lowering his head.

He was afraid to look her in the eye. Seeing her unreserved trust and concern on him would make his conscience uneasy.

They were so engrossed in their conversation that none of them noticed that their entire conversation was overheard by Ellie.

Ellie was smart. When she heard they mention the words "replace the child," "paternity test," she immediately understood.

Maybe Meredith and another girl were carried home by the wrong parents. And they thought that another girl was Evelyn, so they went all the way to Capital City.

"I just didn't expect that I would be the one who succeeded in the match."

"What a coincidence! Or this was the fate?"

Ellie was in a state of confusion, but there were also waves of excitement.

"What if Amelia was my biological mother I had been looking for for a long time?"

In that case, it was likely that the family abandoned her after they found out she was not their daughter.

Then she was not an orphan that her real parents abandoned. Because the parents that had abandoned her weren't her biological parents.

At the thought of this, Ellie even trembled a little due to the excitement. She gave up the idea of going to Meredith and turned to look for the doctor who had just done the bone marrow matching.

"Doctor, I need to ask you something... It's very important for me. Can you do a paternity test with that patient and me?"

Because both of them had just taken blood samples, if they were to do a paternity test, it was ready.

"The paternity test requires the consent of both parties. I can't test for you with the patient's blood without permission."

"It's me, Ellie."

She walked in and looked at Amelia's thin face. Her heart ached. She really regretted not making up her mind earlier. Otherwise, the operation would have already been done and her mother would have recovered.

"Ellie? You come just in time, I have a good news to tell you. They finally found a matched bone marrow for me. I might be discharged pretty soon after the operation."

Amelia was genuinely happy. Although she had been sick for so long and had always said that she didn't care about life or death, now that she had a great chance of recovery, she was naturally very happy.

Seeing how happy she was, Ellie felt even more guilty.

She didn't even know how to tell her the truth that she was her daughter...

Ellie accompanied her for the whole afternoon. Until it was night and Meredith came over to ask her what she wanted to eat, they ended their conversation.

"So you've been here with mom all day Stay and have dinner together."

When Meredith saw Ellie, she was nice to her, because she agreed to donate bone marrow to her mother. So Meredith laid down her guard on her.

"Okay."

Ellie nodded. She wanted to take this opportunity to spend more time with her own mother.

"Then what do you want to eat? I'll go out and buy it later."

"Let's go together."

Ellie was not picky about food, but now she wanted to know what Amelia liked to eat. And she wanted to tell Meredith she was Amelia's real daughter. After all, it was not a small matter.

Meredith heard this and did not refuse. The two of them left the ward together.

Ellie hesitated for a moment before slowly saying, "Meredith, I have something very important to tell you."
