The patient couldn't help but exclaim, "It's getting kinda hot!"
Cosmo glanced at Matthew, seemingly at a loss for what to do next.
Matthew was speechless. It seemed that this kid, despite his young age, lacked flexibility when it came to remembering to mention important details.
"Back up a bit if it's too hot," he spoke.
The patient understood Matthew and slowly adjusted his position.
Jenny's eyes widened as she observed from the sidelines. She was unsure if this unconventional approach would treat facial neuritis, but she was certainly curious.
Liam scoffed. "This won't work at all without proper medication. Plus, there's a risk of burning the skin if this isn't done properly."
Meanwhile, the patient was sweating profusely from the intense steam, but he felt some relief as the muscles in his face seemed to loosen up slightly. Though uncomfortable, he gritted his teeth and endured the treatment.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew into the room, sending a piece of paper swirling off the table and onto the floor. Upon seeing this, Matthew quickly got up and walked to the door, closing it shut.
The patient's pores were open at this moment, and they couldn't afford to expose him to the wind, as it could cause him to suffer from facial neuritis once again.
If that happened, the difficulty of treating him would multiply a hundredfold.
Half an hour passed, and the pot of water was nearly boiled dry. Cosmo released the boil button he had been holding down for so long.
"Alright, wipe your face," he said, handing over a tissue.
Jenny watched the patient's face anxiously. She knew Cosmo couldn't possibly cure facial neuritis, but she still clung to a glimmer of hope. She was hoping for a miracle to happen.
"I… I admit it. I lost!" he stammered, the words tasting bitter in his mouth. "I guess… water can really cure anything." Liam had lost. There was no room for excuses or denials.
Then, a sudden thought struck Liam. He quickly pulled out Medieval Medicine, which he had been clutching onto, and began flipping through its pages frantically.
"It must be in here," he muttered to himself, rifling through the book. "There has to be a cure for facial neuritis somewhere… Where is it? Why can't I find it?"
Page after page, he searched desperately, but by the end, there wasn't such a cure in the book. Liam stood there, dumbfounded. How could the book not have a solution for such a condition?
Meanwhile, Jenny was in high spirits. Pleased with the day's unexpected success, she decided not to charge the patient. She advised the patient to come back in two days for a check-up as she saw him out.
The patient, grateful and relieved, thanked her repeatedly. He opened the door, glanced back to express his gratitude one last time, and then carefully closed it behind him with a gentle click.
Liam looked up, his eyes darkening with fury and malice. "Jenny, you gave me a fake copy of the book!"
