William looked deranged. The Grant family had a young child and two elderly people, and none of them could put up a fight. If he took them hostage, Matthew would have to yield.

Matthew gave Tracy a ride home. When they arrived at the residential area, she was reluctant to get out of the car.

Noticing Tracy wasn't moving at all, Matthew turned to ask, "What's wrong?"

Tracy looked a little flustered. "I can usually hold my own, but I somehow got knocked out today without knowing. The culprits must be pretty skilled. I'm worried they might come to my place to find me."

Only then did Matthew remember that Tracy stayed alone. "What do you reckon?"

Tracy thought of how well Matthew could fight. "Why don't you stay over at my place tonight?"

Matthew was taken aback. Everything felt like a storyline in the TV shows. He wondered what was going through Tracy's mind and asked again, "Are you sure you want me to stay at your place?"

Tracy immediately realized how her words could be taken the wrong way. "I mean it'd be safer with someone else at my place, not what you're thinking"

Matthew shook his head. "I wasn't implying anything. But having me stay overnight doesn't look good for my image."

Annoyed, Tracy glared at Matthew. "What do you take me for?"

Matthew wanted to reassure Tracy that she was safe. After all, she had been dragged into this because of Rachel. The Smiths wouldn't come after her.

The only person in danger right now was Rachel, and the Smith family might be scheming something. But upon seeing how worried Tracy was, Matthew knew she was shaken up by what happened that day.

After pausing for a moment, Matthew suggested, "Staying at your place is kind of awkward for me, and dropping you off at Rachel's is too far. How about coming to my place instead?"

Tessa gave up on the idea of getting out of her car. She then watched Matthew and the woman chatting happily as they entered the yard.

Tessa felt awful about it. She used to think Matthew was a total loser after getting out of prison. Little did she know, he might be a nobody in her eyes, but other women saw him as quite the catch.

In particular, there was Rachel, the president of Wealthwave Group, and this other woman who threw herself at him.

The longer Tessa thought about it, the more she regretted it. With that woman around, Tessa knew she wouldn't be able to borrow any money. After some thought, she decided to come back tomorrow.

Stanley and Lillian were watching TV with Lorraine when Matthew walked in with a woman.

Lillian exchanged glances with Stanley before standing up. "I didn't know you were bringing a friend over, Matt. Let me get you some water."

Tracy smiled and replied, "Thanks a lot, Mrs. Grant."
