Lance flashed a flattering smile. "Dr. Grant, my father's Marrowfragia has been cured thanks to your miraculous skills."

Matthew shook his head lightly. "You've already paid me. No need to be so polite."

He knew Lance was here for more than just to thank him. He was probably here because he knew that Marrowfragia could be hereditary.

Lance said with a smile, "I heard from my father that my great-grandfather had the same symptoms in his old age. Back then, our family was poor and couldn't afford a doctor, so we didn't know what the illness was.

"Looking back now, it must've been Marrowfragia. My father had it, and it's probably hereditary. Could you check me for it?"

Matthew shook his head. "I can't check for an illness that isn't there. You're right that it's a hereditary disease. Your family likely has a hot constitution, and you always feel hot. In winter, if you wear a bit more, you'll feel hot and irritable.

"But winter temperatures are indeed cold, so you must wear slightly thicker clothes. Also, try to avoid eating greasy foods. Follow these two things, and you have a 90% chance of avoiding Marrowfragia."

Lance was excited. "You really are a miracle doctor. I do easily feel hot in the winter. Thank you. I'll be sure to keep warm in the winter and avoid greasy foods."

Matthew hummed in acknowledgement. "Alright. If you're fine, you can go back now."

Lance smiled and said, "Alright, I won't bother you and Ms. Carter anymore. If you ever need my help, just give me a call, and I'll be there."

Matthew waved at Lance. Once Lance left, he smiled at Rachel. "So… how are you going to thank me?"

Rachel blushed. Seeing Matthew's expression, she knew what he was thinking. Why do men always think about that? Then, she softly scolded, "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Matthew knew what she was thinking and asked deliberately, "I helped you. Shouldn't you thank me?"

Rachel stood up and said, "I'm afraid of you. I'm going back to the office ."

Matthew caught up to her, grabbing her hand and gently rubbing it. "I helped you. Don't you have any way to show your gratitude?"

Blushing, Rachel pulled her hand back. "You… Matthew, don't go too far."

Matthew let go of her hand. "You did such an outrageous thing to me, and I didn't complain at all. I just touched your hand, and you reacted like this."

Rachel gritted her teeth in anger. He must've mentioned it on purpose. Last time in the car, she had climbed onto him under the influence of the drug. He always brought it up to tease her.

With a cold face, she quickened her pace toward the car.

In the VIP room at Wealthwave Group, Malcolm was enthusiastically entertaining a beautiful woman.

The woman was Sara Clark, the daughter of the prominent Clark family from Khoitwood. Her background was complex—one that the Carter family couldn't compare to.

Every New Year, Malcolm and his father visited the Clark family. Such people were not ones that the Carters could afford to offend.

Malcolm poured a cup of coffee. "Ms. Clark, what brings you to Lambda City?"

Sara pushed the cup of coffee aside and said coldly, "Rachel is the person in charge of Wealthwave Group, right? Ask her to come see me."

Malcolm's expression turned a bit ugly. He and his son had both competed with Rachel for the position of president and lost. Sara had clearly specifically brought it up to insult him.

But the Clark family was too powerful; he couldn't afford to offend them. He could only smile and say, "I've already called Rachel. She'll be here soon."

As he spoke, Rachel and Matthew entered the VIP room together.

Malcolm had just reached the door. Upon hearing Matthew, he walked back. "Matthew, in personal terms, you're just a son-in-law to the Clarks. In company terms, you're just a driver. If you dare to disobey orders, don't blame me for being rude!"

Matthew's expression turned cold. "Are you threatening me?"

Rachel was shocked. She had seen Matthew in action before—not even one of the Clark family's bodyguards was a match for him. "Uncle Malcolm, you only handle security. His matters are none of your concern."

Malcolm was infuriated. "I'm your uncle. How dare you speak to me like that for a mere son-in-law?"

Rachel replied coldly, "This is the company, not home. He is not under your jurisdiction!"

Malcolm's face turned red with anger. He knew that Rachel was strict, but he thought she would still show him respect. But she treated him like a subordinate.

He didn't know where to hide his old face.

Rachel turned to Matthew and held his hand, comforting him like he was a spoiled child. "With her background, she can change the rules of the medical industry with just an order. Just see it as helping me. Sorry to trouble you."

Matthew had never seen Rachel act like a lesser person before. He was incredulous, but at the same time, he realized Sara's importance and that it might affect the Carter family's future.

"Alright then. For your sake, I'll be her driver."

Seeing Rachel pleading, Malcolm's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

Since she was young, Rachel's personality had always been cold, and she'd rarely smiled. She had never shown any favor to the rich young men pursuing her.

Yet, she acted coquettishly with Matthew, a mere driver! The sun must have risen from the west that day!
