Matthew quickly backed away until he reached the wall. There was no escape.

At that, the muscular man sneered. "This will be your resting place. It'd only take one warrior to kill you. With six attacking all at once, you'll die a miserable death."

Six warriors moved in from all directions. The warrior at the front shouted, "Attack!" His voice thundered, the vibration shaking dust from the rafters.

The blade in his hand struck down at Matthew at lightning speed.

Matthew reached out, grabbed the metal pipe by the wall, and thrust it at the warrior's throat.

The warrior was caught off guard and promptly changed his tactic. Wielding the blade with both hands, he slashed at the metal pipe.

The blade struck the metal pipe, sending sparks flying.

However, the metal pipe did not budge. Keeping to its original trajectory, it pierced through the warrior's throat.

Blood spurted and splattered everywhere.

The warrior grasped his gushing neck. With widened eyes, he glared at Matthew with a horrifying expression, then slowly fell to the ground. After his legs twitched a few times, he stopped moving.

At that, the other warriors stopped in fear. No one else dared to charge at him.

The muscular man was shocked as well. Soon, he snapped back to his senses and roared at the warriors, "He's just one man. He can't hold off all of you. Attack all at once. Hurry up and kill him!"

His voice was loud and filled with urgency. He knew all too well how important that day was.

For years, they had been searching for the Gugleni Sect's successor. They had managed to find and capture him that day. It was a gravely important operation. They could afford no mistakes.

Unfortunately, trouble had arisen. All he wanted right now was to kill Matthew and relocate Silas quickly.

At his command, the five warriors tightened their grip around their blades and moved toward Matthew. Three of them stopped six feet away from Matthew. All five kept their eyes trained on him.

This building appeared to be a dormitory. There was a bed, a computer, a couch, and a coffee table. There was no extra clutter.

He walked to the second room. After kicking the door open, he realized the room was empty. He kicked open four more doors consecutively. All the rooms were empty.

He approached the fifth door and kicked it in as well. Then he moved on to the next. Right after taking a step, he turned back abruptly.

A man was sitting in the room. He seemed to be in his 40s. He was bespeckled and having a smoke.

A man was lying on the bed beside him. It was Silas. He appeared to have lost consciousness. He was completely unaware of what had happened outside.

Rhett Durbin looked at Matthew. His eyes were calm. He seemed well-acquainted with adverse circumstances and was completely unbothered by Matthew.

After giving Matthew a once-over, Rhett soon found his weaknesses. In his eyes, Matthew was young, dressed in clothing of average quality, and poor. His expression was ferocious and murderous. He was all brawn and no brain.

With that conclusion, Rhett soon came up with a strategy. He asked, "Is there a reason you're here?"
